A correctly installed TV aerial gives you a stable picture on every channel available in your area. When the aerial is old, damaged, badly aligned or wrong for your location, you get pixelation, freezing, missing channels and “no signal” messages.
Every property is different. Your engineer checks the existing aerial, the signal reaching your home, the cable route and how many TVs you want connected, then explains whether you need a new aerial, new cabling, an adjustment or a simple repair. If your equipment is still safe and suitable, we will not replace it for the sake of it.

Common TV Reception Problems and What Causes Them
Most reception problems come from a handful of faults. This is what our engineers usually find, and how they fix it.

Retuning your TV will not fix a signal problem. If channels keep dropping out after a retune, the fault is almost always in the aerial, cable or distribution equipment.
Choosing the Right Aerial Setup
The best aerial is not simply the biggest. The right choice depends on the signal at your address, nearby hills, trees and buildings, the mounting position, the cable length and how many TVs you want to connect.
Your engineer may recommend a rooftop or chimney aerial, a wall-mounted aerial or, where the signal is strong enough, a loft aerial. The aim is a reliable picture without unnecessary equipment.
New Aerial, Repair or Adjustment?
A new aerial is not always needed. If the aerial is secure and in reasonable condition, the problem may be poor alignment, damaged cable, a loose connector, an unsuitable splitter or a faulty booster.
Where the main issue is a fault rather than a new installation, our aerial repair engineers can investigate the existing system and fix it, which usually costs less.

How much does TV aerial installation cost?
It depends on the type of aerial, where it is mounted, access, the cable route, your existing equipment and whether you need extra TV points. We offer a free visit, survey and estimate, so you know exactly what the work involves and what it will cost before anything is installed.
How long does a TV aerial installation take?
Most straightforward installations are completed in a single visit. The time needed depends on safe access, the mounting position, how the cable is routed, the signal at your property and how many rooms or televisions need connecting.
How do I know if I need a new TV aerial?
You may need a new aerial if the existing one is badly damaged, loose, heavily corroded, unsafe or not suited to the signal at your address. If it is still sound, realignment, new cable or a new connector is often enough. Our engineers test the system first, so you only replace what actually needs replacing.
Does a new TV need a new aerial?
Not usually. A new television can normally use your existing aerial if the aerial, cable and wall socket deliver a good digital signal. A quick signal test confirms whether your current system is up to the job.
Why have some Freeview channels disappeared?
Missing channels are usually caused by a weak or unstable signal on one or more of the frequencies that carry them. Common causes are an aerial that has moved in the wind, one pointing at the wrong transmitter, ageing cable or connectors, or a faulty booster or splitter. A signal test pinpoints the cause, and a retune on its own will not fix a signal problem.
Can 4G or 5G mobile masts affect my TV signal?
Yes. Mobile signals from nearby masts can interfere with TV reception, especially where an aerial system uses a booster. Fitting a suitable filter usually solves it, and our engineers can check whether interference is the cause.
Can a TV aerial be fitted in the loft?
Often, yes, where the signal is strong enough. Roof materials, insulation, foil-backed boards and nearby obstructions all weaken the signal inside a loft, so the engineer tests before recommending a loft aerial over an external one.
Can you add TV points in other rooms?
Yes. We fit extra TV points in bedrooms, kitchens, home offices and extensions. The engineer checks there is enough signal to share between rooms and fits a distribution amplifier if needed, so every TV gets a clear picture.
Do you offer same-day TV aerial installation?
Same-day appointments are available where possible, 7 days a week. Availability depends on your location, engineer schedules, safe access and the work needed, so calling early in the day gives you the best chance.
