#30DaysOfCharity – 48) Catholic Archdiocese of Durban
We donate to Catholic Archdiocese of Durban to support the work of the Church in Africa. From their base in the city of Durban, South Africa, the Archdiocese of Durban spreads to cover an area of over 20 000 km and serves more than 240 000 Catholics, many of whom live in poverty in remote rural areas.
Here at the Archdiocese of Durban, they have a beautiful Prayer Card with their own special Prayer for Families. They ask for your prayers for the many children on the Zulu Missions who are growing up without the love and support of a family. In poor rural communities like the Valley of a Thousand Hills, households of orphaned children are common, and fatherless households even more numerous.
They set up Drop-in Centres – places where these little ones can get something to eat before going to school, and leave younger siblings in safe care. After school, there’s help with homework, and caring adults to provide advice and support.
